Rabbi Lindsey Healey Pollack

Rabbi Lindsey Healey-Pollack was recently ordained at the Jewish Theological Seminary where she also received with a Master of Arts degree in Talmud and Rabbinic Literature.  She was awarded the Ismar Elbogen Fellowship Memorial Prize in Talmud.  Rabbi Healey-Pollack grew up in Houston, Texas and spent five years of her childhood living in Cairo, Egypt. She developed her passion for Jewish living and learning as an undergraduate at Scripps College in Claremont, CA, where she studied anthropology and philosophy.  She continued to deepen her Jewish learning and involvement after moving to New York to pursue an M.A. in Museum Studies from NYU.

Rabbi Healey-Pollack was inspired to go to rabbinical school by a love of Jewish learning and the richness of a tradition that values inquiry, questions, and discussion.  She is excited to share this spirit of curiosity with others and to create an accessible path to the Jewish tradition and community for all who seek it.

Through her years as a rabbinical student, Rabbi Healey-Pollack has taught and served diverse Jewish populations of all ages.  She has served as the rabbinic intern at Congregation Shaare Zedek in Manhattan and at the United Synagogue of Hoboken, where she enjoyed teaching Rabbinical Assembly’s Introduction to Judaism program and creating other learning opportunities for the community.  Rabbi Healey-Pollack spent two years as the High Holiday Rabbi for Anshei Chesed: The Conservative Synagogue of Cape Cod.  She also completed a chaplaincy internship at DOROT, working with older adults in Manhattan.  She is passionate about creating meaningful and participatory Jewish learning experiences for adults, and has taught a monthly study group for new parents at Park Avenue Synagogue as well as several sessions at Limmud NY.
